Teambuilding Academy

Savvy meeting planners know that corporate teambuilding is a positive way to marry business with pleasure during company meetings and retreats.

Teambuilding Academy

The Resort at Glade Springs offers a teambuilding academy - managed by a professional teambuilding group under the leadership of Duane Zobrist who passionately believes in experiential training and development. He was first introduced to the experiential concept while earning his Masters Degree in Public Administration, and has been a proponent of its' strengths from that point onward. Duane is involved in the program design and often in the facilitation as well.

When the weather is too cool to be outside, we also offer facilities for a variety of inside teambuilding activities.

All our teambuilding resort facilities can be customized to meet the objectives of your group retreat. Your participants will learn more about their co-workers while having fun at the same time! Shared successes can increase team morale; our corporate teambuilding can be aligned with your corporate culture and goals.

As you're planning your teambuilding retreat or company meeting at The Resort at Glade Springs, remember that our beautiful landscape offers not only great outdoor recreation and sports, but also an opportunity to enjoy a great corporate teambuilding experience in WV. Remember, a team that plays well together works well together, too!

Team Dynamics Workshop - 1 1/2 day program

Experience a powerful transformation as we spend a day sharpening your teams' performance form the inside out. Through the use of the Myers-Brigg Type Indicator© we will identify various personnel preferences of team members and define your teams' profile. By including interactive challenges into this Myers-Brigg workshop your team will:

  • Identify areas of strength and possible team blind spots
  • Clarify team behavior
  • Match team assignments and personal preferences
  • Provide a framework to better identify and diffuse conflict
  • Define the inherent strengths and challenges of your team, both in working together and with employees

Rocket Launch - 2 hour program

This exciting program starts with a quest to decode clues around The Resort at Glade Springs. As you and your team decipher the clues you will see many unique Glade Springs locations. As you visit each location you will collect tokens that can be exchanged for equipment necessary to build a high powered water rocket. Watch in amazement as the rockets you have constructed reach the 200 foot mark. This is one activity you will not forget.

Under Fire - 3 hour program

During Under Fire, team members must seek out a variety of check points that are assigned different values determined by ease of access, distance and difficulty, while racing against the clock. Planning and communication are vital for success. Teams learn the skills necessary to use a GPS unit and locate specific locations around the resort property. While completing the GPS course, each team collects the tools necessary to build a small fire using flint and steel. In order to successfully start a fire a team must utilize every piece retrieved and the natural skills of each team member. If one element is underused or missing, success can be near impossible to achieve.

Challenge Course - Full day program

This on property course is a great teambuilding experience. All of the stations are custom designed using experimental learning models and activities that include everyone in the group and challenges teams both mentally and physically. Initiatives are focused on group support, teamwork, and communication and are run be a trained and experienced facilitator.
