On your West Virginia vacation, come visit the place where wild and wonderful meets over 500 miles of trails in the outdoor adventure of a lifetime.
The Hatfield-McCoy Trail System totals several hundred miles of off-road trails and is open 365 days a year to ATV's, dirt bikes, select utility vehicles (UTVs), mountain bikes, horses, and hiking. Many of the trail systems also offer community connecting trails that allow visitors to access "ATV friendly towns" to experience the charm of southern West Virginia.
The six Hatfiled-McCoy trail systems are Browning Fork, Buffalo Mountain, Dingess Rum, Indian Ridge, Little Coal, and Pinnacle Creek Trails. No matter which trail system you choose, Hatfield-McCoy Trail vacation visitors can expect to find a variety of trails ranging from easiest to most difficult.
Hatfield-McCoy Trails provide a safe, legal, and managed place for its outdoor adventure users.
All trails are developed in conjunction with the Bureau of Land Management to meet Federal standards. They are professionally mapped using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and marked for safety.
All trail users must have a Hatfield-McCoy Trail permit on their person at all times. All trail users, except for those hiking, must wear a DOT, SNELL, or other approved helmet, protective eyewear, and over the ankle footwear.
