An equestrian vacation at The Resort at Glade Springs can be a great experience, whether you're an accomplished horseback rider or just starting out!

Ride along miles of marked trails that meander along mountain streams and over the hills of the resort's 4,100 acres.

You might choose a romantic carriage ride for two. Or perhaps the whole family will enjoy pony rides, especially popular with our younger guests. Riding lessons are available by appointment.

The Equestrian Center offers packaged group activities that include horseback riding and trail rides. The friendly folks at The Equestrian Center will gladly work to provide you with a truly unique outdoor experience.

Silver Spur Trails

Enjoy the wooded countryside on these trails that are great for all levels of riders, including beginners. Riders must be taller than 52" and at least 9 years old. Maximum weight for riders is 250 pounds.

30 Minute Guided Trail Ride - $25 per person
Available daily at 12:00pm and 4:30pm

60 Minute Guided Trail Ride - $45 per person
Available daily at 9:30am and 2:00pm

Hand-Led Horse Rides

For our young equine enthusiasts we offer a 10 minute hand-led horse ride. Children must be at least three years of age and wear a helmet. The ride tours the barn and facilities. This is a great way to introduce young riders to the equestrian world. $10 per ride. Available daily at 10:00am, 10:15am, 10:30am, 10:45am, 11:15am, 11:30am, 12:15pm, 12:30pm, 12:45pm, 1:15pm, 1:30pm 

Carriage Rides

Come and relax at the Equestrian Center with a carriage ride.  Our carriage can seat four adults comfortably.  This is a fun activity for the entire family no matter what age you are.  We also offer private carriages for weddings, anniversaries, or any special occasion.

45 Minute Carriage Ride – $30 per person, under 10 yrs. – Free
Available daily at 11:00am, 1:00pm, 3:30pm

15 Minute Dinner Carriage Ride - $20 per ride
Pick-ups at the front of The Inn and drops off at The Clubhouse
Available Friday and Saturday evenings
5:00pm, 5:30pm, 6:00pm, 6:30pm, 7:00pm, and 7:30pm

Lessons

Our Equestrian Center’s main focus is safety.  Our goal is to teach riders of all ages how to properly manage and control a horse.  We offer a 30 minute private basic lesson to get you started.  We also recommend that our riders who have no, or limited, experience take advantage of the lessons before experiencing a trail ride. 

60 Minute Riding Lesson - $55 per person

Available as snow and weather permit.
