Honey in the Rock is the nation's oldest Civil War Drama and tells the story of West Virginia's tumultuous birth during the Civil Wary. Union loyal, and populated by a hard-nosed new breed of American, Honey in the Rock chronicles the tumultuous birth of the Mountain State through the lives of some of its real and imagined residents.
It's a romping, rollicking, vibrant historical performance filled with drama, intrigue, music, comedy and romance.
Hatfields & McCoys recounts the bloody feud between the Hatfields of West Virginia and the McCoys of Kentucky. Some say it started with a dispute over the ownership of a hog. Others say it was the ill-fated love affair between Roseanne McCoy and Johnse Hatfield. Whatever the reason, there was bad blood between the Hatfields and the McCoys. This historical drama chronicles the battles and bloodshed spurred by pride and politics.
Theatre West Virginia also offers two musicals for summer 2008: Cinderella, a timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale reborn with the Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance: and five performances only of Disney's High School Musical.
