With 25 miles of Gauley River, 6 miles of the Meadow River, many scenic gorges and valleys containing a wide variety of natural and cultural features; the Gauley River National Recreational Area is a must to be viewed.
Want to take part in the whitewater rafting fun, but aren't of the adventurous nature to tackle the Gauley's rapids yourself? Why not take in some views of the rafting excitement! After all the Gauley River contains several class V+ rapids, making it one of the most adventurous whitewater boating rivers in the East.
If you are looking to fish where the locals do, just pick up a West Virginia fishing license, this is the perfect location to spend the afternoon.
Now what price would you put on this relaxing afternoon? Lucky for us all the National Park Service makes sure that there isn't one. The Gauley River National Recreation Area is open year round and there is no fee for it's use.
